As I have begun work developing some new techniques that I have absolutely fallen in love with, this demo of live recordings showcases these ideas in their infancy. I create live loops with an acoustic guitar and then pitch, stretch and morph the loops into low, bassy, ambient bliss, and then perform improvised sound therapy with crystal singing bowls on top to create soothing, compelling, and healing sound pieces. This release earns its name for many reasons. Firstly, the bowls I use are tuned to 432hz, the healing frequency, and are neuroscientificaly proven to reduce stress as well as aid in emotional, psychological, and even physiological healing. Secondly, for more personal reasons. These last few years have been a stress test on every single person who walks the earth, but while the world was shaking, so was my psyche, and I was battling extremely severe PTSD and alcoholism at the same time I was facing the same wave of bleakness that came for us all. That combination of triggers landed me in the emergency room, fighting for life, three times in the last two years. I lost 40 pounds and developed an array of compulsive and neurotic ticks that completely disabled me. It was so intense and so scary, the ordeal brought me to my knees in more ways than one. I hadn't worked on a project that was extremely meaningful to me in years and I knew, as an artist and creator, that a wonderful piece of me was dying. I prayed to God not to let my passion for creating dwindle and He answered me with this. This highly therapeutic material I am doing now gives me hope, wonder, intrigue, and rest every time I perform it. It's a love language and form of prayer that I speak to God that can of course be appreciated by the audience but only fully understood by God, himself. Combining the subharmonic tones I achieve through manipulating the acoustic guitar with crystal singing bowl therapy, this rough demo was recorded completely live to a digital Tascam recorder in a bedroom in Texas, and is your first taste of ideas that have only recently come to me which I cannot wait to expand upon.
